As a child of the South, I had never seen snow with my own eyes.
After the pandemic restrictions were lifted, and just as I had come to the end of a long-term relationship, I took a solo trip to Japan. There, almost as if by fate, I encountered snow for several days in a row.
I captured these fleeting landscapes on film and named the collection “Landscapes I Had Never Seen Before.”
Each piece is carefully hand-folded using three different types of paper, with several photographs transformed into slides. Like sorting through memories after returning from a journey, they are tucked away in a little metal tin, treasured like a box of keepsakes.
With this collection, I’d like to share with you the lovely little world I encountered along the way.
